  1. Richard Bolger's Photography Expo in De.Studio in Amsterdam
  2. More exhibitions: Art Pop-up in Laren called Salon "Change of Art"
  3. My Art Trip to Hongkong
  4. What's (up with) Gallery + more De.Studio

Richard Bolger’s photographs are instantly recognizable. The pallet and use of natural light as the subject stands out in his minimal cityscapes and landscapes. The painterly quality of these images helps them to establish a timelessness.

Born in NYC, Bolger is a graduate of the State University of NY at Purchase.

He lives and works in Amsterdam and New York. In his 35+ years making photographs he has published work in various magazines and has done portrait work for different international clients.

Richard's event is called

"Crystal Palace - The Prologue"

On display are photographs on several media including glass, and a collection of minerals.

This is a one day event (but it's a prologue so there will be more in the future). It starts on December 1st at 15:00.

De.Studio is softly launching a platform artpopup.eu. Initated by Marianne Shine we have our first edition in Laren called Salon "Change of Art". Visitors can watch paintings made by Vincent Mans and Hans Vos, food & flower photography by Mirjam Poldermans, and on top of that jewellery art by Yizon Chen. It's all very high end... and for sale.

Place: Heideveldweg 10 in Laren.

The opening is on December 8th from 16:00 to 21:00 (more times and directions below the image).

From the press release:

Not: Banksy, Hirst, Mauve, The Hague School or Koons.

On December 8, Marianne Shine will open her first selfless intuitive experimental exhibition 'Change of Art'. She is helped in this by emerging art platform De.Studio from Amsterdam, a driving force behind initiatives like this.

The warehouse at Heideveldweg 10, which is nearing the end of its time but first collects some facets of the atmosphere of The Factory, dictates the character of this three-day Salon & Art Sale. Nothing is fixed, nothing is forever, everything is possible and everything moves. Change of Art.

You can download the full press release as pdf in English or Nederlands.

Last October and November I made a trip to Hongkong with the purpose to connect with galleries. I took with me eight artists' portfolios. It was successful in multiple ways and now there is work to do to interchange. In the next newsletter I will dive deeper into this subject. So, stay close!

De.Studio is established in 2021 as a souterrain nearby Amsterdam Centraal. Due to Covid we are now just leaving the starting phase. We - Vincent and Jade - call it Amsterdam Point of Art. It's mainly a Gallery that retains artists and manages them. It also serves other art related purposes with a large online component. De.Studio runs shows and a few projects now, under which Art Popup and Tiny Art Project.

There is so much to tell that we will write a piece of the history - that goes back beyond the startup years - in every newsletter. So already just for that, you should stay close.

By the way (but important)...

De.Studio is a private enterprise. Serious investors are welcome. Small contributions too, like messages on social media or assistance with tasks. And donations - click here - are much appreciated (please add your email address to the payment description so we can contact you). It's all for the sake of Art!

You can forward this email. People can subscribe themselves here.

What else can you expect from us?

We explore Digital Art and NFTs. Items on Artificial and Artist's Intelligence. It looks like every fart is called art these days, so maybe we'll zoom in on that. We help galleries and artists with exhibitions and online resources and we will write about that. We also deal with topics about art from the past. The artists we represent receive special attention.

See you online or in real!

Cheers,
Vincent @De.Studio
